Don’t Waste a Second Today!

Published by wind at 6:20 pm under Environmental News, General Edit This

How many times have you said, “There’s just not enough time in the day!?!” Today is your lucky day! Tonight, right before midnight, an extra second will be added to the atomic clocks around the world.

This phenomena is called a leap second, it is caused by the erratic rotation of the Earth. In order to keep Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in sync with Solar Time, in 1967 the atomic timescale became the world’s official source of time, this timescale controls the time signals for the internet and GPS’s worldwide!

So, tonight, right before midnight you get that extra second that you’ve been asking for all year!
Use it wisely….
